Chantre du free jazz que l’on classe parmi les monuments, Archie Shepp a collaboré avec les plus grands : de John Coltrane à Frank Zappa, en passant par l’initiateur du free jazz, Cecil Taylor. Doté d’une virtuosité intemporelle, Archie Shepp est un artiste aux multiples casquettes : saxophoniste, chanteur, poète engagé, pianiste et également dramaturge. À l’occasion du festival Jazz à Porquerolles, il s’entoure de Jean-Paul Bourelly à la guitare, Reggie Washington à la basse, Tom McClung au piano et Hamid Drake à la batterie : tout un rassemblement pour vivre un concert grandiose à la pointe du jazz.

I am going to perform a creative improvisation with a few Chicago friends like Chicago afro cuban percussionist Greg Carmouche and AACM saxophonist and composer Ed Wilkerson before and after the screening at Chicago Film Makers.
