After a series of jams between guitarist Jean-Paul Bourelly and drummer Marlon Browden, Bourelly brought in bass player Jonas Hammond.
The result of that session made it obvious that the three would try and meet and between their other projects, continue to develop the concept jam.
In the summer of 2006, without a CD released, the band was asked to appear at the Warsaw jazzfestival.
2007 proved to be a year of more momentum, with the group establishing a recording studio as well as a monthly appearance in the Berlin jazz club Atrane in the fall and a winter concert at Gagen Jazz im Stadion festival, Dortmund, at the Borussia stadium.
The 3Kings sound could be described many way, but here we will say its trash jazz of a sonically adventurous sort.
3kings nourishes its music with deep subtones to atmospheric highs, a sonic brew that conjures emotion through an inter-changeable format of song and improvisation.
Not wanting to be dependent on club and concert appearances alone in order to express their musical vision, in May 2008 the 3Kings set-up this myspace site.
The site is dedicated as a net outlet for their most up to date recorded jams. Those sessions will be posted on the site in the near future.
